What to include
- Reporting a wrong figure: send the page URL and the number you believe is incorrect. If you have the source you're working from, include it. Corrections to published tax figures are prioritized over everything else and usually go live the same day. See how we source our numbers for where each figure comes from.
- Requesting a calculator: tell us the question you were trying to answer when you couldn't find a tool for it. That's more useful to us than a feature name.
- Embedding a calculator on your site: you don't need to ask, the embed page has the code and it's free. Email only if you need a custom version or different branding.
- Press or partnership: mention your outlet or company in the subject line.
What we can't help with
We can't provide personal tax advice, review your return, tell you what to claim, or help with an IRS notice. That isn't reluctance, it's that doing so responsibly requires a licensed professional who can see your full situation and take responsibility for the answer. For an actual return, a CPA or an enrolled agent is who you want. The IRS also runs free filing assistance through the VITA and TCE programs if cost is the obstacle.
We also can't look up your account, recover a calculation, or tell you what you entered earlier. Nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted to us or stored anywhere, so there is genuinely nothing on our end to retrieve.
